Murray Jacobs gave members an engaging tour of ‘Hidden Cambridge’, albeit virtually. His tour focused on King's College and King's College Chapel. He covered a variety of issues, including how the university began in 1209 at St. Mary’s church, and how this was also the location for Stephen Hawking’s funeral in 2018. He told us amusing stories of some of the antics the students got up to such as scrambling up the spires, which tower 150ft above the ground to place santa hats on top of the spires as a joke. The most audacious prank was in 1958 when a group of engineering students hoisted an Austin Seven on to the roof of the Senate House.
